My Queen's Birthday.A Poem by Bonaventure OnuabuchiTo Chika Onuigbo on her 18th birthday.
The long expected day is born.
To many it's a day when in 'one' ectasy lays- Who's come of age to her queenship and throne, Whose splendour the sun's duty strays, Like the moon is insipid and stillborn. Have I but words adoring to the rose For diamond is a treasure time may dethrone. Nor could in silver and gold my heart be disclose. . . Happy birthday to you Many more years and thrill- Anew' always like a gold. To thy heart let heaven refill With joy and gladness to countless fold. And thy beaming mug ages renew. . . No bound to this thrill will grow Every blues now is to atone, For yesterdays; and theirs is the birth of a low. And yesterdays' beauty today depicts a crone. . . Happy birthday my beautiful queen. Eaglelike; whose is no moment need to preen. The sun needs no artificial light to bright. That might every night do still blight. But my queen in this crest- Oh! Beauty has build a permanent nest. © 2015 Bonaventure OnuabuchiReviews
