Common Ground

When lies and betrayal take it's course...

Don't say you will stay forever we know its a lie,

You leave me stranded or watch me quietly die.

You'll promise me the moon and stars far above,

Tell me of untrue fables of your undying love.

Whisper romance but as cold as a winter night,

While you lay thinking of others you have in sight.

You'll grab what you can when the time comes true,

Then set off on your path spouting we are all thru.

In the end there won't be any words I will say,

Just watching you ride off showing your display.

For me I know that a true love wasn't found,

All because we could find our common ground.
