Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves

A Poem by Bohrium Guy
"

Thoughts for October

"

I watched them fall slowly to the ground,

Multicolored layers brown and yellow found,

Some were graceful while others softly twisted,

One or two actually seemed to stay resisted.

Once down they lay in different shapes divine,

Some came together while others fell in line.

As I watched them float in a moment of time,

It took away my thoughts and held me in sublime.

Can't life be so simple as leaves falling from a tree,

Where love, happiness and people get along free.

Maybe people need to look at the falling leaves,

To know a moments peace is worth what it relieves.

i, too, wish life could be as simple as leaves falling from a tree...or like poetry where for some the words just seem to fall off some shelf in the mind's sky---different types of words that fit together to make a really enjoyable poem, like this one---why can't people be that way too?

This is top-notch word crafting! First, let's note the topic of autumn leaves is so often written about, yet you managed to make this fresh & original & without cliché. Little details like leaves that resist falling and different shapes nesting together -- these are the observations that make a nature message so interesting & sensory. But most of all, I love it when a writer can capture nature so eloquently, yet also weave in some human parallel that leaves us with something to think about or strive toward.
