Fear in Us

Some thoughts on being left alone....

Promises made with words of love divine,

Forever and always seems to be the line.

Then the reality that life is never a sure bet,

The words once spoken slowly lead to regret.

We feel the time slip the concrete contract,

Is now slipping away its a matter of fact.

We will be left all alone and shiver with fear

Discarded love and alone its drawing near.

Facing the prospect of managing a life to be,

Secluded and left out for the rest of eternity.

Shadows of once was left stinging in pain,

A place where love is lost in bonding refrain.

Screaming into our night like a bad dream,

Nothing more said but life having no gleam.

We wait and hold true there shall be romance,

Time ticking clock for another loves dance.

The clock moving faster hopes fading away,

Silently we sit in hopes it will come one day.

Someone to fill a void we were left to hold,

Another lovers dream of another story untold.
