Hand Tide

I have watched her cry, felt with her the pain

Sat feeling bound by the distance like a chain

Wanting so deeply to be at her side just then

To wipe away tears and set her heart to grin

To remove the chores and the pain held inside

While the responsibilities taking away the pride

Helpless I stand looking across a hundred mile

While my heart is longing just to see her smile

I whisper I'm fine while I hurt down so deep

That my soul cries out and my thoughts weep

How do I tell her the madness of separation

The final miles to end in the final destination

To hold her safe and release her from conflict

Removing the pain, guilt and her from restrict

To know she is now in the arms of much care

Where the past is behind and no more despair

Still afraid I sit waiting to move on to be free

Where you and I soon will become you and me

How do I express my feelings strong inside

When I feel like I am sitting with hands tide
