The Sound of FallingA Story by JayyfosterIf a tree falls in the forrest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound?Trees April 29/13 19:30 “It a tree falls down in the middle of a forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound?” First, we must define “on one”. If all animals, birds, bacteria, human parasites, anything other than the plants, then the world outside the furthest reaches of the sound waves never heard it. To me sitting in Georgia, a tree falling in Borneo has no meaning to me. I did not experience it directly. Yet that sound happened. The plants, trees, and fungi are organisms too. To them, the tree did in fact make a sound. So to consider the plants and fungi as “ones” means that for no one to hear it means we remove all other carbon based forms of life. Even still the tree made a sound that affected the now sterile soil. What an impression! Back to removing all the “ones”. A forest consists of several trees, plants, fungi, animals, protozoa and more. So for the tree in the “forest” to fall with on one there to listen means, ultimately, the tree falls in an open, barren plain. Now defining “one” as having no soul means no human contact, as stated before, it ould be irrelevant to anybody who, well, wasn’t there. Yet I challenge you, isn’t God everywhere? So therefore He heard it fall. Then this question has no claim to reality. It simply cannot be possible, for where God is not Present >ERROR ERROR CANNOT COMPUTE< Job 38:4 “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the Earth?” Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” God is ever-present and thankfully, ever loving. He sees the Deathly Hollows, the parasitic virus. He hears the fallen tree and the cries of an unlucky calf when it becomes lion lunch. Yet despite all the chaos, He hears you. He hears your shattered heart. He heard the God Man cry out “Eli Eli Lamach Sabachthani!” All throughout this ramble, He heard your cry for clarity, stability, and forgiveness. He gives it freely. He just hopes that you will listen to broken, fallen hearts all around you. In conclusion, if a heart breaks in a crowd of people, does it make a sound? © 2013 Jayyfoster |
