A Death in the Family

A Death in the Family

A Poem by BobbitheLioness

Dear God,

Hear a desperate plea from earth amongst a flood of disparities.

Hear the tick of the clock as it marks the separation of life between heaven and earth.

Hear the cries of the victims of the fallen as they piece together any remanence of their soul not taken.

Hear the deafening sounds of silence echoing through ears of the suffering.

Feel the stiffness and staleness of the air as they fight for a breath of relief.

Hear how they cry, feel how they suffer.

Heal these hearts, oh lord, heal these hearts.

Offer them peace, separate the barriers of time and space.

Fill them with the love stolen by earthly graves.

Help them grasp the impossible dream for even just a moment.

Then lead them back to earth as they awake to feel again the ache of endless grief.

Forever a broken heart, body, and mind. Amen.

I write poetry when I have a difficult time processing something. My strongest emotions always need an outlet. I struggle with my self esteem, I’m a giver and never feel like I’m worthy of.. more..
