Funny How Things Go

Funny How Things Go

A Poem by BoSweets
"

When life hits you in the face!

"

You broke my heart today.

I want you to be happy anyway.

I went through hell and back with you,

Now she’s reaping what I’ve sowed?

Funny How Things Go!

You flipped on lights and the TV too.

All on my candle light rendezvous!!

Now she gets candle lit by you?

Just cause you call her your boo.

I sacrificed my life to you,

Spent all my time for you!

I won’t let love hold me back no more.

There ain’t no guarantee it won’t end in divorce.

I’m convinced people come to us for a reason or season.

Staying together forever,

Huh!

It just ain’t so.

Funny How Things Go!

I should have made my own dreams come true

Instead of all of the focus being put on you.

You broke my heart today..

But I want you to be happy anyway.

You can appreciate the things I introduced to your life,

Now that I’m no longer your wife!!

Huh!

Funny How Things Go!

...I’m convinced people come to us for a reason or (season)...
I'd like to see this word have its own line. example (only) ..for a reason and in this case lasts for only a season. Wonderful job load with emotion.

Very heart felt poem. An honest look at the nature of relationships. You must love yourself before you can love anyone else.

A woman scorned is a weapon of mass destruction. Although I am far too young to be able to empathize with losing a spouse, I have lost my fair share of love, and your poem was so relatable in that sense. So frustrated and angry and confused and hurt and powerless... this poem captures it all. Fabulous job.

And I am so, so sorry.

When we give everything. And it isn't enough. Must be time to move on. The poem is powerful. I like the feel in the words. A feel of a woman who understand life and understand when we need to be on a new road. A outstanding poem.

Interesting that the wife is torn between wanting happiness for her husband and taking some satisfaction from his new partner having to put up with his selfish ways... and reckoning that given time, he'll come to realise what he's lost...

A woman's revenge - strong, passionate... I love the way you fling the thoughts onto the page and vent...

Now how did they used to say that---it's not funny hah ha, but some other kind of funny. In this case, it's probably funny--disappointing and hurtful. All is not lost, for new oportunities now avail themselves. (Nothing about it feels positive at the time, I know)
