Grains of Sand

Grains of Sand

A Poem by ThirtyOnePetals

Each minute, like grains of sand
Slipping through the cracks of these hands
I hold out in front of me
Worn out during my peak
Kiln
They cracked prematurely
Carried on, destined to"
I hold out in front of me
These hands
Each minute, like grains of sand

Gee
I woke up one day, was 58 yet it seemed only a heartbeat ago that I was the young boy of yesteryear with skinned knees, missing teeth and a total dependency on all things mum :)
Time does pass so, so quickly and this I believe we only truly appreciate in later years.
Good morning, enjoyed reading this

This is a great poem. It made me ponder about time, and humanity's place in this world . As much as we all would like to hold onto time; we can not.
