Dear MountainA Poem by BlysfulWhen you want something enough, not even mountains can stop you!
It seems I've lost the road again.
Oh, how careless of me! I had one road to walk upon and strayed off thoughtlessly! I'll have to take another road - a straighter one this time I'll come equipped with better gear to better make the climb! It seems I've lost the road again. How did I lose my way? Dear Mountain, my apologies, I have no time to stay! This time I'll take a longer road, narrower and steeper. I'll keep this map closer to hand And navigate by metre! It seems I've lost the road again! Dear Mountain I'm confused; I've gone every single which way but still come back to you! I've tried to take the highest road, and clamber over crags. I've tried to take the longest road, and tried the shortest tracks! Dear Mountain I have lost the road that takes me on past you Is it over? Is it under? Is it around or through? Dear Mountain I must find the road to let me soldier on; I have no time to comfort you My goals lie far beyond! ... But what if I've not lost the road? Dear Mountain, I must know - was this all just a test to prove I want the way I go? Dear Mountain, are you on the road to hinder or prepare? I've learned and fought to pass you by and done all that I dare. You won't block my road, Mountain dear, I'm stronger than you thought. My wilfulness batters down your barriers held taut. I will build a road, Mountain dear, to overcome your strife. Dear Mountain, I must thank that you made me strong enough for life! © 2016 BlysfulAuthor's Note
