A Different SkinA Poem by BlysfulIn love returned or unrequited - there's always someone worth changing for.
Contentedness that I've known not
in all my years of wandering then when I've your hands to hold and a soul much worth honouring Many fruits I have consumed, repulsed by every sour bite: love blackened and touches foul with bitter kisses, words of spite My every scar of past lovers sharp blemishes burned anew with the ghost of gentle fingers your tender touch fondly renews And perhaps, if by happenstance I ask to love you dearly it's all down to that welcome smile and whispers sighed sincerely Should you fall for any soul other than my disfigured own I'll guard you against them all 'til they earn your adoring tone Should you desire for me to be all and any but what I am for you, Beloved, I'd cast this skin nary give a thought or a damn All I'll ever ask in return is that you sometimes lay your gaze upon my undeserving form to set my very soul ablaze © 2015 BlysfulAuthor's Note

I ran out of pages in my numerous notebooks, so I made the (hopefully not disastrous) decision to post my work online :) more..Writing
