A Retched Tale

A Retched Tale

A Poem by Blysful
"

Our efforts are pale, compared to wretched humanity!

"
Flower oh flower,
why do you not bloom?
I water and weed
give you all that you need
yet you return me no boon!
Tree oh high tree,
why give you not fruit?
I've sheltered and doted
Though my work goes un-noted
And you offer no loot!

River oh river,
why's your water run putrid?
I cleanse and I wade
no mistake have I made
but still you're polluted!
I see now, I see!
this issue lies not with you nor me!
We try and we'll fail
for our efforts are pale
compared to retched humanity!

Wrote as a merry poem for a close, nature-loving friend ... They took it a bit more seriously ^.^

About
I'll write so long as there's a pen in hand or a keyboard in reach. I ran out of pages in my numerous notebooks, so I made the (hopefully not disastrous) decision to post my work online :) more..
