A Poem by Blut Gemalt Rosen

a costume is all people see
not the real side of me
a fragment is all i truly am
nothing but a fake and a scam

beautiful face but blackened heart
want nothing more but to depart
from inside out, slowly hollowed
depression swells and blood soon follows

it's only a costume, but no one can see
i'll be rejected for who i may be
demons with gold wings, a wolf in the sheep
deceiving them all, a monster in the deep

rips and dirt on a tailored white gown
brought to the knees and face toward the ground
coughing up blood and admitting defeat
too weak and bruised from being beat

it's just a costume, so let's be fair
if you really knew me, you really wouldn't care
for a liar, a cheat, a failure, and a creep
maybe i should find a bridge and leap

no clue what i should do with myself
my sanity's declining and so is my health
one foot in front of the other is tough
staying afloat in life is too rough

it's just a costume, what do you know?
the seams are ripping, it's starting to show
my friends worry with deepening sighs
i don't want your help, don't even try
