This Is My Prayer

To all my friends and family and all the amazing people I'll never forget. Nakama

Give them strength when they need it the most,

Give them peace, something to toast.

Give them a smile I will never see,

Fill their hearts with eternal glee.

Please filter the hate that reaches their ears,

And give them the courage to face all their fears.

Give them a song to sing through the day,
And keep the horrid demons at bay.

Give them hope when times are black,

Cast an ecouraging wind to their back.

Let laughter tickle their lips,

And fun times breach their trips.

Erase all the pain and hurt inside,

Show them the calm beyond the coming tide.

Give them shelter, be their guide,

Teach them to fly intsead of glide.

Let live all their dreams,

Weave love into their seams.

'Til their eyes twinkle like the stream,

This is the prayer that I deem.

This is an awesome poem! What I love so much about this is that its selfless! Many people may pray for love to come their way, for money, for fame, but this prayer is directed towards other people. I feel like it would be a loving prayer that a mother would pray for their children. It flows really well and has it's own original allure to it.

A lovely prayer. What makes it so special, is that it is for "them " and not the narrator himself.
Rhyme is an evil, evil thing, it can completely ruin what you want to say someimes. This poem certainly proves that statement incorrect. You have used fresh rhymes that give the poem a new flavour, and set is apart from the old school rhyming poems.:))
