A Song Of Eternal NightA Poem by BluefireA dark faery tale
~*~ He wrote a song of eternal night,
In hopes that she would come back to him that night.
"I wish I may,"
He said.
"I wish I might,
Please let me see her tonight.
Bring her safely to my home,
Make sure she is alright."
And lo the Angel grew tired of his song of sorrow,
And promised he'd bring her back on the morrow.
But the Angel did not foresee,
That the man would be sent off to war the next day,
No longer at his piano,
No longer in play.
The woman saw that he was not there,
And so she made a deal with the Angel,
A deel most surely fair.
She would give her soul to the Angel if he,
Would protect the man she loved while Blair,
Played the song of sorrow,
On the piano over there.
So the Angel agreed to this deal,
Both true and fair,
While Blair started to play,
And all the while she was thinking of the man,
Imagining him on his way,
Into battle with sword in hand,
Many he did slay.
But in truth he was cut down,
And poor soulless Blair plays to this day.
