Delirium

Delirium

A Poem by Bluefire
"

He doth whisper in my ear...

"

My dreams are cast upon the wall,

Lit by lantern,

Tell them all.

In beautiful stories,

Songs of dread.

Happiness.

Her blood is red.

As it leaks from her porcelain skin,

I dab my quill and write my sin.

I write it everywhere I can,

But don't overlap the dreams that protect me from the shadowman

No,

Not him.

The gentleman over there,

Giving me his bloodred stare.

A jester's outfit he does wear,

Though it's black and white striped,

No color lies over there.

It's so unfair.

He doth whisper in my ear,

"Come here, Allen. Come here."

This poem very nearly made it to the finals of the festival, if the other poems weren't so strong in this edition, it easily would have made it.

I was very impressed with the song-like lyrical quality of this piece. Especially the first 7 lines, great job!

"No color lies over there"

This is the strongest line of the poem for me. I liked the darkness of it. It's all dark and black and white when I imagine this.
