Red Moon Flight

Red Moon Flight

A Poem by Jaci

There was red
around an irregular moon
clouds swirled
steamed milk
into chilled soup gloom
Patterns moved
with the shifting wind
stirred
but the red remained
the same
I imagined a witch
flying up there
broom tail switching
throwing stars around
Now and then Arcturus showed
smaller than in summer
still his orange halo glowed
star of joy
guard my wish tonight
guide the witches erratic flight
she circles the red ring moon
trying so hard
to make things right.
