Immigrants

Immigrants

A Story by Jaci

This country as it is today was founded by explorers and immigrants. Not just those who wished to conquer and plunder the wealth of native inhabitants. My forefathers/mothers, ancestors as you will, came here from countries like England, Scotland, Wales.. they came here to start new lives free from tyranny and persecution. Without immigration we would not exist as the diverse country we are now. The United States has been created by people from all over the world. It's my thought that some of the restrictions placed on immigrants are wrong, especially in categories such as family. There's nothing worse than forced separation because of politics. Let's forget for a moment about the time it takes, the ridiculously expensive cost, the redundancy of repetitive paperwork, and medicals. I mean really, if you aren't contagious anything else is none of their business. I get fed up with personal interference by mechanical, script reading, would-be relationship assassins. That's not what this country is about! We aren't a very old nation and it surprises me how quickly people forget.
