Wandering

Wandering

A Poem by Jaci

I saw the rectangular eye

cast upon the ground

and I watched your shadow pass

as you walked on by.

The moment grew in solitude

the shadow paced again

then the eyelid closed

a momentarily blink

and evening lengthened dim.

Night became ever darker

save for twinkling stars.

I still lean to you

in wandering dreams before day.
