Listen

A Poem by Jaci

To the grass I call

give me strength

hardy as your blades

though soft enough

to gently yield

in the face of rain

and the four winds.

To the mountains I look

for patient endurance,

the quiet voice of the rock

and the nurturing of

the giving earth.

To their wisdom

I wish to listen.

To the sea I journey

and dive into

to feel life

flow through my limbs,

your water is in my veins.

I feel it as I swim

and burst into the air again.

And now a bird

I have become.

Feathers warm in the sun.

Flying on and on and on...
