The Traveler

The Traveler

A Poem by Jaci

The traveler among us

goes to many places

seen and beyond

the visual state of mind.

Bad intent follows him

each and every step,

but with a smile

of gratitude

he thanks them

as they pass.

With sarcastic laughter

thinking he's been bested

they cannot see the joy

in the miles that he walks.

"I wish you happiness" he speaks

as they all shove past.

"I wish you the joy and luck

with which I have been blessed."

Eyebrows raised with confusion

they continue on their way.

"What a foolish man."

is what they have to say.

How can he be happy,

or feel so wonderful

when everybody else around

is absolutely miserable!

"You're not the same,

you don't belong.

Go away and disappear."

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Better to live this life

as an individual

rather than graze with the sheep

and be utterly predictable.

He smiles and travels on.
