Ode for Adam

My crystal blue eyes get wetter,

The thoughts about you and me get better,

But like every guy I know,

Who you really are,

You don't show.

 

I've had enough of heart-break,

Made one to many mistakes,

Lost feelings,

My mind gone numb,

Stupid, insecure,

Reckless but fun.

 

I fell of the cliff,

But never stopped falling,

No waves to engulf me,

No rocks to end my pain,

Living a nightmare,

Once again.

 

I wake up to see,

I have friends always with me,

To cheer me up,

Create a smile,

Have a laugh once in a while.

 

The one guy who does all this,

Is a guy I dont want to forget,

Meeting and becoming friends with Adam,

Is something I'll never regret.

Author's Note

My friend Adam wanted a poem about him, and this is what I came up with, basically its about getting emotionally hurt by some guys then always having friends there for you :) xx

When I read the title and the first stanza I thought you were writing and Ode to Adam, as in Adam and Eve'....but this is a good tribute to a friend too.

I like the emotion in this poem! The agony in the beginning is beautifully illustrated by the picture you painted of a never ending fall. Then the end when the happiness comes in in the form of Adam. Very nice.
