Stopping Time

Stopping Time

A Poem by BlueberryKisses

The clock slowly ticks,

Making compulsary clicks,

In the frosty silent air,

The laughter faded with our hopes,

Such a shame really,

All we have to remind us of the harsh reality,

Is the ticks and tocks,

Destroying the awkward silence,

Adding to the atmosphere,

Shouting,

That time is pressing on.

Should ever those ticks and tocks stop,

The great heart of the clock die,

Not only with there be a little more emptiness in the world,

More memories will fade,

As its the little things,

Ticks and tocks,

That make the grand collages of memories,

Floating in our consciousness,

Without the rhythm prancing in the air,

The world will be dead.
