Sick (of the person)

Sick (of the person)

A Poem by Hunter Mullis

Melancholy and anger,
Down and out, stressed out,
Sick of the person i used to be.
Sick of the person I am.
Sick of the person I'm supposed to be.

Let the expectations burn,
Be who I want to be,
instead of the person I'm supposed to be.

If only I could listen to myself.

Love the dilemma this presents as you articulate conflict within and write it in a flowing and punchy, tight free verse. I could feel the frustration, the hoplessness in it!
