The Duke's Wedding

Emma is suppose to be marrying the man she is betrothed to, but she is unable to due to the fact that she just gave birth to twins right after getting off of the ship.

        Edward started at the sound of a baby crying. It took him a minute to remember the events of yesterday. He looked to his left. Emma was awake and trying to feed both of the babies at the same time. He laughed.

        “You want me to go get that woman? She might be of some help right about now.”

        “Yes please.” She begged.

        As he left the room, she set the babies down on the bed. They needed clothes, other than the blankets they were bundled up in at the moment.

        Edward finally returned with the woman who delivered their children. She stayed for a while teaching Emma what to do to get the babies to latch onto her breasts.

        After the woman left the room, Edward showed Emma the outfits that he bought for the babies for the wedding. He also bought some linen cloths to put on them for underneath the outfits.

        Edward also bought a dress for Emma to wear to the wedding. They slowly made their way to the church. They had their driver be extra careful not to run over many bumps as it pained Emma.

        Emma got very nervous as the church came into view. Peter and Edmund were in the coach with them, but she still felt like this was going to end badly for someone. When they pulled up, another coach arrived. A woman wearing a beautiful white gown was walking up to the church.

        Squinting from the sun, Emma realized that Hailey was the woman walking up to the church in a wedding gown. She quickly made her way to Hailey’s side. Hailey saw her holding Elizabeth and let out a small gasp.

        “Hailey, you don’t have to marry him for me.” Emma said.      

        “I do need to do this for you. You were always nice to me, and I will pay you back by getting you out of a marriage you don’t want and obviously can’t go through with yourself anymore.” She motioned to the baby girl Emma was holding to her chest.

        “I suppose I can’t now, especially since I am married to a prince. This is Elizabeth Rose, and Edward is holding Elijah Drake.”

        “Twins? Wow things definitely went well for you over the year you were gone.”

        “What about Henry though? He will not be so willing to be married to my maid. I look at you as family, but the rest of the world just sees you as hired help.”
