Darkness Illumines

Darkness Illumines

A Poem by David Plath

listless, lifeless

thoughts take hold

like roots in the ground

buried within these tendrils

I lie

artful, aimful

dark depths plumbed

emotions long dead

ethereal Morpheus

I cry

fearing, finding

sleep’s treasure

gone in an instant

pendulum swinging away

I see

scenic, static

life ahead

beauty, happiness

panoramic synapses

I choose

daily, dreamy,

paradise

darkness illumines

aural majesty unseen

I find
