A prayer

Its a poem, about a plea we all sometimes say.

A Prayer

I gaze upon the starry sky.

Where are you my angel?

Fly over and shield me.

why can't I breath?

I am cocooned in my sorrows.

Darkness conquers my soul.

Fear incarcerates the heart.

I am losing control.

I maunder with my scorched credence.

Doubt and loss dominates me.

Mystified in this ceaseless delirium,

I hallucinate my euphoric history.

Was I in a fool's paradise?

Stargazing a pipe dream?

As I stand on the edge of memory lane

I'm abashed to love once more,

Fate massacred my dreams,

So I slay my happiness.

In agony I call out to you.

Wake me from my nightmare.

Relive me from melancholia.

Grace me with your scythe.

Reap me to oblivion, oh dark one

Cast over me your iridescent glow

You are my salvation.

Take me to your empyreal

Deliver me from this creation
