My Lego Heart

My Lego Heart

A Poem by Christian Bonoan

You saw my Lego heart in the middle of the street

You’ve built me up for me to be alive

You saw me burst from the Lego heart

And we loved each other from the very start

You wanted to change me so I became a robot

A robot living with a Lego heart

I followed you to the most treacherous cliff

I jumped with trust in my Lego heart

You watched me fall and smirked a little

You’re not there below, you just watched me fall

I reached for you, but you left me falling

I waited to die, but I kept on falling

I changed for you, but it was never enough for you

You chose your friends while I’m still falling

I was there falling and you never cared at all

Still, I’m falling, ‘til you lost interest in me

You held my Lego heart in your palm

And broke it slowly piece by piece

My heart bleed blue inside your cold palm

I fell down broken, but still ask you please?

“Please do not leave me, please love me still”

You didn’t care and chose your friends

I slept forever, ‘til that one day comes

That someone will fix my Lego heart.

A lego heart. Easy to built and can fall with simple ease and rough touch. I liked the story in the poetry and the wish at the ending. Thank you Christian for sharing the excellent poetry.

Amazing Christian. Well-written, while reading your poem, I had traveled through the journey. Beautifully explained how the heart was built-up and broken into pieces one by one. Now only waiting for someone to fix that lego heart. Lego heart since it changed according to the demand of the one you loved but who didn't reciprocate.

This was very vast, and had a mountain of ways I could interpret each line. I like to interpret the poem as the Lego heart being something that was built up piece by piece, and then it was destroyed and taken apart to build something new. Something new that the soul of the heart never accepted and was abandoned for, so it fell and fell while waiting for the day it was to be built up again.

These lines are so awesome. Very Good. Keep it up!
