RosesA Poem by Christian Bonoan
I wasn't ready for it all
My eyes were closed and heart beats fast "Surprise!" you said as my lips curved My chest went warm with all your love You gave me roses from the streets And they grew and reached my heart They told me how you love and care That you will live for my only sake Each day I wake, I water them They grow and grow with all my love Our love grow along with the roses With tender care, that forever we'll share Days passed, the roses grew fast! I touched them but got picked by its thorns As you and I grew like the roses Beautifully shining with nightmares behind The roses didn't last long One by one petals fall like domino You and I, we're bound to love together But you told me "No, this isn't forever" I never wanted to see roses again For I see you in them, it pains my heart Like the roses, my heart died with you're gone It was a drought in my heart The roses went dry inside my heart As you left me all alone in this place Drying up, losing hope in my life But I cried, As I watered myself I survived the darkness in my brain Like a rose about to die And was watered by myself I now see that I have to live for my own.
