Goodbye Saturday

Goodbye Saturday

A Poem by BlueEyedBandit
"

A rough poem I wrote a couple years back.

"

Never was there such a day quite as nice as this.

It's so sad it's ending, it's something we'll surely miss.

I never thought we would lose a day that was so much fun.

I never knew this day would actually get up and say, "I'm done."

No more free days laughing and playing until dusk.

Not more staying up all night, sneaking home what a rush.

No more laughing until you think your stomach will explode.

No more Saturday for us, this week will sure be cold.

Now Friday is a day we'll still have to be in school.

Still have to do our homework, for I know it'll be the rule.

Sunday comes and we still can't be carefree all day.

For we're stopped by the dreadful thought of, “Tomorrow's Monday.”

Why did the Saturday have to go, did it think we took advantage?

I'd say sorry if I could, but I don't think it would acknowledge.

So, let's stand here today and bow our heads in silence.

Saturday is actually gone, it has moved ahead of us.

It's sitting up with summer where we are all quite free.

The sun is always shining, and the birds sing happily.

So, let's get the winter over with, toss the spring aside.

I just want my beloved Saturday, with summer on the side.
