A lifetime of solitude

A lifetime of solitude

A Poem by BlueDevil

I laugh and talk to friends and family

Be normal to fit in their world

Surrounded by a thousand sounds and noise, I forget you for a while.

As the noise and faces fade and solitude descends, you come back to me

I take myself to another world, filled with silence

Trying to reach you, to feel your presence

Only to realize I have lost you

Even before I could find you

I engulf myself with the silence

Hoping to find you within it

But you are already gone

And I am left clutching at the shadows

And the memories

Memories that refuse to fade

For a lifetime of solitude ahead
