Chapter Five: CaseyA Chapter by Blue Cross
"Who was that person in the car dropping you off?" My mother asked while pacing back and forth in front of me.
"It was Bre, I told you already." I said while holding both of my hands tightly in my lip trying to keep from showing that I was lying to her. My mother and I were always close but since that day of Chris' trial she never wanted to hear his name in the house or see him. I was pretty much under a no talking about Chris or going to go to see him punishment. "I think that you are lying to me. Yesterday, she was driving a different car not the one that you pulled into today." My mother sat down in a chair opposite of mine while looking at me. I was looking away from her so we wouldn’t make eye contact. "Hold your hand out." I flinched and slowly turned my head towards her. "Why do you need to see my hand?" "Just do it, Casey. Please." She asked with her sweetest voice while a little smile. "Ok..." I held out my hand to her and watched her slowly grab it. I felt a pressing in my mind as if someone was inside. I looked over at my mother whose eyes were closed while breathing deeply. "No!" I ripped my hand away and quickly stood up from the couch. "You were with him last night!" My mother stood up at the same time and looked at me eye to eye. "Why would you go behind my back and see him, when I told you not to go see him or speak to him?!" I closed my eyes tightly and began to walk to my room. "Because I know the real him unlike everyone else! They might say that he is a criminal but I know he didn't do all of those things everyone said he did!" I screamed out and slammed my door behind me. I slowly slumped down to the ground with my head in my knees. "No one knows him like I do...No one will know..." I took my cell phone out of my pocket and looked through my contacts. Once, upon his name I pressed the talk button and held the phone to my ear but moments later it went straight to voice mail. I closed my eyes tightly while whispering into the phone. "Hey Chris, it's me Casey. I just need to hear your voice right now to calm me down...Mom found out what is between us because she read my mind...So call my when you get this place and quickly...I love you so much, love..." I hung up the phone and buried my head into my thighs. © 2010 Blue CrossAuthor's Note
