Being human

Being human

A Poem by Blue tailed kite

I would like to be a machine
A Super Hi-tech machine of its kind
That would not feel exhaustion,
or jealousy or desire
If I broke apart,
I would just assemble myself.
But then I wont be able to
Drown myself in music,
Fondle the lush green grass
Get lost in the night sky,
Feel the rain on my fingertips,
Taste the aroma myriad
Fragrant breeze in my hair,
Blood rushing through my veins
Heart thumping, releasing
butterflies in my tummy
Watch the setting sun bring
A smile to an old couple
Watch kids build castles
and play with stray cats
Faces that make you laugh
Faces that make you weep
Memories of once upon a time;
Dream even when you're not asleep
Being human sure is tiring,
But is probably worth it.

Being human is a wonderful experience, I wouldn't give it up for anything. Your poem brought a smile to my face.
