-Plague-

-Plague-

A Poem by Azul-Blue
"

Plague: by Azul Sordo.

"

As plague reigned in its plight,

Death became a frigid warmth,

A veil of black against the dying light,

Her hands curled under its tempest,

Colors faint,

Trembling at its unrest,

Her voice a fragmented whisper,

"Cease this cold,"

To marred faces once familiar,

Death with open arms and faint smite,

As a fox parts its jaws,

To the rabbit who shows no fright,

And from bared teeth,

A welcome snarl,

"It is warmer beneath,"

May this be of vice and sin,

Though powerless to quell,

Against the plague within.

Very nice! I really liked the symbolism in the animals and the vivid imagery at points. Particularly enjoyed the combination of:

Frigid warmth

It got me on my toes to read the rest!
