This thing that I want

It speeds past me

But am rooted where I stand

I can’t reach for it

This that I desperately want!

How vain! I can’t even touch

It ignites my hearts pulse

Then flees without a blush!

Why this that I want

That life deems unfit

For me to have?

And why taunt me with it?

This thing that I so want

This that I can’t have

This that is you and me…

This etched in my heart as us

The hearts desire poem. I wrote a ton of those in high school all I got was a hand cramp and heart ache. Did get an A in English class though. Good stuff this poem.

hehe the 'this that' that is seemingly taunting you can be achieved simply you moving from where you are rooted,where you stand and you will be able to reach for it as i bet your heart so desires.
