WE CLICK

WE CLICK

A Poem by Maureen Mwaniki

Click…click…

The click of her heels

Click…click…

It speaks to me

Click…click…

Carrying her Dior bags

Reeking of chanelle

Am decent in my rags

But she’d prefer YSL

Click…click…

They say she’s stuck up

I tell them to shut up

I can’t match her glamour

But she knows that I want her

Click…click…

Hear that click of her heels?

Click…click…

It tells me we click

It clicks in my minde, I see a picture. It works very well! Good catch!

This speaks to me with all the lovely thin italian fashionistas in stilletos here. They speak to me. I feel dressed in rags next to them, the american that I am. You are able to tell such a full story with so few words I envy you that

A interesting poem. You create a vision of a woman with a purpose. I like the ending. I like woman with good taste. Sometime we must do what we must to sacrifice to buy what we need. A excellent poem. Thank you.
