MISERYA Poem by Maureen Mwanikii think its obviousShe knocked at my door A veil on her face A tear stained dress And a weight on her chest
There she stood at my door Something I once loathed But now, sweet lord! She’s all I’ve got
She’s fixed at my door Willing me to let hr in My company she seeks But I dread it’s for keeps
She’s not at my door Yes! I let her in Misery is real She’s right here with me
With me today With me always With me till the day I see me smile again
