MISERY

MISERY

A Poem by Maureen Mwaniki
"

i think its obvious

"

She knocked at my door

A veil on her face

A tear stained dress

And a weight on her chest

There she stood at my door

Something I once loathed

But now, sweet lord! She’s all I’ve got

She’s fixed at my door

Willing me to let hr in

My company she seeks

But I dread it’s for keeps

She’s not at my door

Yes! I let her in

Misery is real

She’s right here with me

With me today

With me always

With me till the day

I see me smile again

Beautiful read.Sometimes all we can do is persevere. Nice twist, nice sense of expectation.

i was honestly surprised by who 'she' turned out to be...great work, hope you get to smile again! :)

Haha this was just awesome. The imagery was flawless, i didn't expect you to depict misery that way from your title. Being unpredictable is what we writers should aim to achieve. But i think there was a grammatical error: third stanza second line if i'm wrong please tell me so i edit out this part of the review. You are a good writer and i feel you can get much better so keep writing! Magnificent.
