Your Own Race

Your Own Race

A Poem by Jeffrey Allen Weaver
"

- FEEL IT -

"
Above and below,
before and beyond;
what once I thought frightening,
has now come and gone.
Within or without;
is it all just the same,
divided in only perception and name?
Life is, and it was;
and forever will be -
a joy or a challenge,
perhaps tragedy.
For the tragedy comes
IF the race you have won,
turns out to be NOTHING
like you COULD HAVE done.
Was THAT race really chosen
BY YOU, my dear friend?
Was it laid down by those
who would gain if you win?
As you celebrate there
with your trophy held high;
you don’t want your heart empty.
You dont want your soul dry.
If this race isn’t yours,
then you’re playing a part.
The one SURE way to know -
just RETURN TO YOUR HEART.
All the effort you’ve given,
All the struggles you’ve known!
NO ONE ELSE deserves credit!
Your ENERGY is YOUR OWN!
The solution is easy.
The practice - NOT SO.
As you MOVE and you CHANGE,
and you LEARN and you GROW;
you must LOVE WHO YOU ARE
and must LEARN TO SAY “NO”.
FOR the ONLY REAL THING
you will have in “The End”,
is the “you” YOU CREATED.
MAKE YOURSELF your best friend.
All else works itself out.
All else falls into place;
when you're on YOUR OWN ‘mark’ -
when you’re in YOUR OWN ‘RACE’!

Good advice in this one. People in politics should read it, along with everyone else.
