Going Off to College

Just a piece where I try to express what college means to me

Going off to college means hitting refresh. It means I am able to be myself without the fear of constantly being judged by people I labeled my friends. It means the ability to meet new people who will like me for who I choose to be and not the person they assumed I was. 

Going off to college means exploring. It means adventuring out of my comfort zone and trying new things. It means doing the things I want to do and not just the things I feel obligated to do. 

Going off to college means learning. It means understanding who I am when I’m not living in someone’s shadow. It means learning what needs to be known to persuade my dream. 

Going off to college means growing up. It means figuring out how to live by myself without my family right there to help me. It means making mistakes and finding solutions to keep me on track.
