Have a Haiku 12

Have a Haiku 12

A Poem by Blossom
"

The 12th collect of my 10 Haiku series

"

Don’t lie, butterfly

Nectars do not always feed

Some just tantalise

I stand with aplomb

You envy my tough veneer

I’ve endured thunders

Traveller has left

Embers in the kitchen die

Repose hits again

North, south, east or west

Kids of all worlds laugh alike

Adults fail to hear

Human tragedy

Pine for love then destroy it

Laughable affair

Across the ocean

There must be a heart attuned

To birds, wind, and me

Another dream died

Before reaching first birthday

Are dreams like dew drops?

Summertime garden

Collage of pretty colours

Competes with rainbows

Steadfast like the trees

Where I perch, I have become

Though a trifling bird

Repertoire of grief

Unlock your world-weary eyes

Let the tears escape

"I have become/ though a trifling bird"
love that...these are all wickedly good...and the patchwork here is excellent as a theme starts with the first and the story/journey carries through to the end as one poem made up of several senryu---
great stuff.

Three and four are particularly good, and so is six; actually, so is "dreams like dew drops" and garden colors competing with rainbows, not to mention "repertoire of grief". Then there's a lying butterfly.....Oh my!
