Remember the time....

Remember the time when he hardly moved

When I would change him

When I would feed him

Months passed, he became active

Wanting to explore everything

But couldn't quiete do it

Babbling and drooling everywhere

Remember the time when he held his bottle

And crawled throughout the house

When I had to soothe him because of teething

Remember the time when he took those first few steps

And landed in my arms for a hug of pride

And up until now, I have to chase him

Remember the time when he said da-da

And ma-ma

Which took forever for him to say

I miss the time to myself

The long sleeps I would get when I didn't work

The naps where you took and I didn't

But I don't miss when you became independent

It makes my life easier

Now all you want to do is play

Like nothing in the world matters

Remember the time when you first saw me

When I held you in my arms

After a long, tiring, labor

Remember the time....
