The sun has set

this is as good as it gets

You are here with me

we don't care what they see

because what we have is great

even if it was found a little late

I've left the past in the past

and I'm trying to make this last

I'd just about given up

when you showed up

back in my life

when all I had was strife

You were the beacon

that lead me from the dark

the shoulder to cry on

you've already left your mark

on my broken heart

stitches are forming

you were the start

of my healing

again you can see the smile

that's there all the while

Actually, the poem "Falling" was written for my fiance. This poem was written for my step grandma, who stepped up to be there when no one else in my family gave a damn about me.
