Fear and Resentment

Fear and Resentment

A Poem by Thief Lord Alex
"

Just my late night thoughts.

"

Fear and Resentment

Always a pair

Where one goes the other goes

You can find them anywhere

The twins bred from hate and violence

Then placed in innocent hearts

Pretty little children

Who cringe when the yelling starts

You grow up learning to fear them

The people who yell and hit you

But then something happens

And you resent all they do

You learn that it's not right

That they have commited a sin

And yet they get away with it

It's like you can never win

Fear and Resentment

Always a pair

Always hand in hand

You can find them anywhere

In the little orphan's eyes

In the cold bum on the street

In the raped teenager

In the child who's always beat

In today's society

There's nowhere safe to hide

Nowhere they can't find you

And your grip on reality starts to slide

In the cold city gutters

In the club's red lit back room

Everywhere you run to

They're there to cause your doom

Fear and Resentment

Always a pair

Always causing sorrow

To everyone-everywhere

From the little abused child

To the teenager covered in blood

From the orphan left abandoned

To the street kid sleeping in mud

Fear and Resentment

Wide spread across land and sea

Infecting every person they can

plaguing them like a disease

Author's Note

Thief Lord Alex
Woke up at about 2 am and started thinking in the dark. Somehow this is what I got out of the pitch blackness of my cold room.
