Play Pretend

Play Pretend

A Poem by Thief Lord Alex
"

Let's be kids again, let's play pretend.

"

Let’s play pretend
I’ll be Cinderella
You can be Prince Charming
We can write our own fairytale

A castle in the backyard
Complete with a tower
A clock that works
And chimes on the hour

Let’s play pretend
I’ll be Wendy
You can be Peter Pan
We’ll fly away to Neverland

A rope ladder you can climb
A fake dragon to fight
The drawbridge closes
You climb the stairs

Let’s play pretend
I’ll be Jasmine
You can be Aladdin
We can take a magic carpet ride

It’s night
And so we fall asleep
Tomorrow we’ll
Play again

In the morning
We’ll play pretend
I’ll be Sleeping Beauty
You’ll be Prince Phillip

It’s a Neverending
Fairy tale
So let’s write it
Like we want

I’ll be the princess
Trapped in a tower
You’ll be my prince
Fighting the dragon

Let’s play pretend
I can be Cinderella
You’ll be Prince Charming
And we’ll write our fairytale.
