One Day

One Day

A Poem by Thief Lord Alex
"

Day to night

"

The sun rises

And with it

The hustle and bustle

Of New York City life

That's loudest with

The midday sun

As its conductor

Shadows are cast

That never stay long

And yet grow longer

As the sun sets

And in its place

The Blood Moon rises

Bringing out the

Angel of Death

Whose blade, at Midnight, strikes

For with the New Year

The Blood Moon sets

Until the next

I'm in the process of writing a book and after I came up with some chapter titles I thought they sounded poetic. So I wrote this.

Like silk...meaning this writing is smooth and easy to read; a pleasure. I just read one of your vampire poems...so I know you can write "angular" as well as smooth. This one had a little twist in that it started as a "I have visited New York often enough to say this" poem and ended with a wicked slant. You are a very wicked girl Tara Stone. I will need to keep an eye on you.

all the best
