Kei

Kei

A Poem by Thief Lord Alex
"

A vampyre

"

God, oh God

Sun-kissed hair in his eyes,

Smiling lazily in the shade

He calls himself a monster

God, oh God

Graceful in everyway

Walking lazily along the dark beach

They call him a monster

God, oh God

Fangs sharp, blood running

A modern day vampyre

I don't call him a monster

Kei, oh Kei

Living a cursed existance

I envy and pity you

Call yourself a monster

It doesn't matter

To me you are a god

Author's Note

Thief Lord Alex
this was inspired by Kei, a vampire from the film Moon Child. And yes, I know I spelled vampire wrong in the poem, I did that on purpose.

I just love your vampire or vampyre writing. The entire genre is oddly powerful. James Dean and Johnny Depp sort of power...the outsiders...we are repulsed (not you but most of us :-) while at the same time saddened and sympathetic. That builds tension and drama into stories or poems around vampires.

You also write from the victims POV. Sort of the woman dominated by the bad boy. Really intriguing and very well written.

You have added some scholarship to your topic by referring to Vampyre...an old novel. (I Googled it)

PS - I must say it...your bare throat beacons. Beware young lady...lock your windows tight from the dark unknown.
