What would you do for love?

A girl asks what a guy would do for love.

"What are you willing to do for love?"

I asked him during class

"Anything." He answered, fiddling with

The heart he made her from brass

 

"Really?" I asked

Wishing to test this claim

And as he nodded

I started to play a game

 

"Would you crawl through dark tunnels

And eat spiders to get her heart?"

He shook his head and frowned

"Would you let yourself be shot with a poison dart?"

 

Again he shook his head

"Would you crawl through broken glass?

Or run across a pit of flames?

Or kill 100 men to get your lass?"

 

He shook his head thrice

Frowning as I smiled

The possibilities were endless

And my mind was running wild

 

"Would you eat pig's stomach

Or drink ox blood?"

His eyes narrowed

"Would you crawl through spikes and mud?"

 

He glared at me fiercely

"Would you fight wolves and bears?

Bloodhounds, bats, and tigers?

Or be tied and stretched until your skin tears?"

 

He continued to shake his head

And I only sighed

"You said you'd do anything

For love but you lied."
