Didn't Think You Would (2012-song)

Didn't Think You Would (2012-song)

A Poem by Be A Fighter

Here we go

This is how the story goes

I played my cards

But so far all I’ve won is a broken heart

Count to three

Listen to my melody

On repeat

Can you hear the pain behind my voice?

La da, da da da, da da (beat)

I didn’t mean to

I didn’t want to

I didn’t think you

Would hold it against me

(chorus)

I never thought that you would walk away

Like leaving me along was the better choice

I watch you poor salt into my wounds

Standing here crying and begging you

To forgive me and I will walk away

But before I say goodbye

I’m gonna say this one more time

(end chorus)

I didn’t mean to

I didn’t want to

I didn’t think you…

So here we go

Let’s put everything on hold

Still the lights

Let me show you what my life’s been like

Hit the play

Button turn the volume up

Tie you down

Watch me as I’m buried under ground

La da, dadada, da da (beat)

You didn’t mean to

You didn’t think to

You didn’t want to

Until you thought you knew

(chorus)

I never thought that you would walk away

Like leaving me along was the better choice

I watch you poor salt into my wounds

Standing here crying and begging you

To forgive me and I will walk away

But before I say goodbye

I’m gonna say this one more time

(end chorus)

So here we go (x2)

I didn’t, you didn’t, until you took her bait.

Author's Note

Be A Fighter
This was written after my ex left me because he didn't want to deal with what I was going through. He instead told me I was pathetic and that I'll never get better and cheated on me because to him that was apparantly the better choice.
