A Step Toward Life

A Step Toward Life

A Poem by Blonde Coma

The wind stings my face

As I run against its current.

I took in your scent

And now I am as high as can be,

Running from rooftop to rooftop

Until I reach the heights of pleasure,

That I have of yet to experience.

I'm an adrenaline junky

And my heart beats to the drums of war.

This is dangerous

But I'm drawn to it,

Like a curious eye over the edge of a cliff.

I'm at my breaking point

And curiosity still pushes me further.

The drums beat

And the wind carries that sultry scent.

With outstretched hands

I step toward the edge,

Reaching for yours in understanding.

I breathe in life,

Let go of inhibitions,

And lived.
