The Year After.

Sequal to The Morning After.

I sit in my room holding my baby girl. My baby, my love, my heart, my soul. Her name is Allison. Luke and I decided it together. I remember the day I told him, he'd just stared at me for a couple seconds then nodded and said 'Okay, we can do this. I will stick with you no matter what.'. I'd almost cried. I was so relieved. Now a year later I held my 2 month old baby in my arms. Allison. Or Alli as Luke had taken to calling her.

I heard the door bell, I stood. That must be Luke. I smiled, I thought about Luke. At least I had a good guy to be connected to. At least my life and his are a mess together. I walk threw my bedroom door and to the front door. My dad is standing at the door, he's opened it and is making just enough room for Luke to come in. My dad hasn't talked to me since the day I told him I was pregnant. He hasn't even acknowledged Alli's existence.

Luke steps in and towards me. "Hey, Liza." He smiles at me, then looks down at Alli. "Hows my baby girl?"

I smile, I love him so much. "She's good. She didn't sleep much so she needs a nap."

He reaches for Alli and carefully lifts her into his arms. "Hey baby. How are you today? huh?" He coos at her until she rewards him with a laugh.

I smile and walk to the kitchen. My house is Luke's too now. So he knows where to go. Meanwhile I'm going to eat. I haven't eaten since breakfast. I walk into the kitchen and open the frige. I hear Alli scream and look up, then smile as I realize the cry was laughter. I grab some milk and then go to the cabinet for cereal.

For being a teenage mother I couldn't have been happier.

-- 3 Years Later.

I stare at myself in the mirror, I remember all I'd done. Good and bad. I remember the morning all those years ago when I'd woken up beside Luke, I remember when I told Luke, I remember when I gave birth, I remember when Luke proposed. And now I'm making a new memory, I'm getting married. Married to Luke. I smile at myself and my wedding dress. It's nothing fancy but to me it's gorgeous.

"mommy!" Alli calls from behind me.

I turn and look at her, she's got her father's eyes, but my fair hair. I smile at her, "Yes baby?"

"Mommy, where daddy?"

"He's getting ready honey." I kneel down and take her into my arms. "Are you gonna be a good girl while mommy get's married to daddy?"

She nodded. "I wanna get mawied too mommy."

I laugh slightly. "How bout you just watch mommy for now, okay?"

She makes and unhappy face and I walk out of the room.

-- 20 Years Later

I stare at my now grown baby. My Alli as she walks in the room, holding the hand of a young man she's been dating for a year now. She's tall and beautiful. Tears come to my eyes. My baby isn't a baby anymore. Luke puts his arm around me and whispers in my ear, "Don't cry now."

I nod and open my arms to embrace my not so little girl. She's taller than me, she's gone to college and has a degree. I stare at her beautiful face. "Oh, my baby. I havn't seen you in so long."

She runs into my arms and wraps her arms tight around me. "I love you mommy."





None of that would've happened if she'd aborted that little girl growing inside her. That young man Allison walked in with might never have found that perfect girl. Luke and Liza might never have married. Their lives could have been very different.

This was lovely. I absolutely loved it. All the characters, the time lines, the plots, everything!! Did her father ever talk 2 her again? Did the same thing happen to Liza's daughter?? You should write something like that. You know when the same thing that happened to Liza happens to Alli. All in All I loved it!!!!

Love this story! I love the little thing about abortion at the end. Stories like these should be read by anyone considering an abortion- I think they would immediately change their mind!
